Baby it's Cold Outside!

When it comes to accessories, hats are definitely the best. Say what you want about the Michigan weather, but you don't see people in Cali sporting sweet hats like this! Seriously though, hats are awesome accessories for portraits. They really put the focus right where it belongs-on your eyes. They really help to create dramatic portraits and I think they are AWESOME!
p.s.~ Check out the cute hat on Wyatt in his blog too! I was tempted to put it up here, but I figured I should at least hold out for a *little* longer. he he

Magazines

With Senior/Grad portrait season winding down, I thought that it was finally time to post a few images from this season. Also a good time to finally introduce a new product that I am now carrying in the studio...Design|House magazines. These mags are so much fun and everyone seems to just LOVE them-myself included. So, if you're interested in something like this, let me know when you call to reserve your next session.

Perspective

It may be weird to some people, but this angle is quickly becoming my favorite for portrait sessions. Actually, it has been for a long time, but I have just recently started including them in my selections for clients to view. I guess I just didn't think that my "vision" of the portrait would actually come through in the actual image. Thankfully though, in the more recent sessions where I have included these images, the clients have shown the same appreciation for the style that I had hoped for. Yay! So, here are a few for you all to see. Just love the beauty of the way the eyelashes lead into the other facial features. (Is that too artsy for you all. lol. Yep, I'm a geek!)

Holiday Portraits at Gigglebeans...

For those of you who don't know, Gigglebeans is an indoor play place for kids here in Lake Orion, MI. It's a great place for kids to go and get some energy out and also a great place for parents to sit back and relax. Anyway, the wonderful folks at Gigglebeans contacted me to request that I come and do holiday portraits for their clients and of course, off I went. It was a fun day for me and I even brought Wyatt to play as well. Even as young as he is, I think that he enjoyed it. Here are some images of the sweet kids that I had the pleasure of photographing during the day. I also spoke with Dawn, the owner, and she suggested that we may try to make this an ongoing thing with upcoming holidays. I look forward to it. If you're interested in going to play for the day, check out their site HERE: WWW.GIGGLEBEANS.NET

Continuing Education...

I get asked all of the time about how I became a photographer and what kind of education I have. Most of you have heard that story, so here's a better one.

How do I maintain and update my education base? The answer is that I continue my education through workshops and seminars around the country and sometimes internationally. At the beginning of the month, I attended an awesome seminar in Nashville, Tennessee called the Inferno. It was a great week of intensive training and information. Guess what one of the topics was?...Anyone?...That's right! Updating your blog on a regular basis!! So, here's to the first of many posts coming before the end of the year. We'll call it my "pre-new year's resolution" and I'm sure that you'll all remind me if I fall behind again, right?

Last post of Wyatt...

Well, as most of you know, I have been VERY busy in the studio lately, but no one who hasn't spoken with me would know that since I haven't blogged about it in for-ev-er!! Seems like every time that I get a cute pic of Wyatt though, I want to blog it for family and friends who are out of state to see. Not really the best content for a photography blog, right? (especially those AWESOME iphone pics. lol.) So, I created a new blog just for Wyatt and his photos. (the ones that I get to take anyway) Having said that, this is (or at least should be) the last post of Wyatt. I know that many of you like to keep tabs on him still, so here's a link to his new blog:www.wymatt.blogspot.com and I promise to get back on track blogging in both sites. :o)
